Austrian artist who, during his short life, was often criticized for his obsession with the nude figure and his use of e r o t i cism as a major theme, indeed he was imprisoned for a brief period in 1912 for obscenity.    His work was initially influenced by Klimt but he soon developed his own unique style utilizing a series of jagged lines.
