Swiss painter trained under Jakob Schwegler and Joseph Zelger then later, in Geneva, under Françoise Diday and then Alexandre Calame.   His work was influenced by Calame but whereas Calame preferred dramatic scenes of mountain peaks Zünd  preferred to paint the more tranquil Alpine foothills.
